<p>Scodix Metallic offers managers two production options. The first is to print directly onto silver foil stock, specifically approved for Indigo presses. Using CYMK and varying values of white, you can achieve any metallic color on top of the foil. The second way is though lamination. The board paper stock is laminated (80 lb cover weight or essentially any stock desired) by applying the lamination and running it through the Indigo press. We print directly on top of the lamination. The initial process makes the piece look dull but by applying Scodix, it makes the metallic areas really pop, adding both a metallic look and a dimensional feel.</p>
<p>We’ve already done many metallic projects but the most memorable were some laminated business folders (about a 1000) we produced in multiple versions. Customers really react positively when they see the metallic effect and how it impacts the response to their product or presentation. The first step was to educate the market about Scodix and now we’re going back to the market with this new feature.</p>
<p>Before Scodix, we did print on silver stock, but by using the Scodix Metallic feature, combined with the Scodix feel, the metallic effect really makes each project unique and special. The Scodix look and feel really converts new clients into believers. Working with Scodix tools is easy, the challenge is educating the marketplace, especially creative. Creative professionals have long been shy about designing with metallic effects. With Scodix, the time, cost, and application is dramatically reduced, making it much more designer-friendly.</p>
<p>For Tukaiz, Scodix Metallic offers so much in potential future revenues. Simply stated, it’s quicker, cheaper, multiple color metallic printing with an expectation of much faster turnaround. The finished product is as good as traditional accepted methods, but faster and you can get more creative with it. It offers a minimal learning curve with those familiar with Scodix, and similar to learning to build a PMS or spot color library. We’re excited about its future at Tukaiz.</p>

We’ve been using Scodix since 2010 and its capabilities have enables us to open many new doors. The metallic feature further assists us in this area.</p>
<p>Response to the metallic option is very impressive and somewhat unique in that produces an effect that can’t be reached any other way. It is simply a higher quality specialty feature. And, though it’s limited to shorter runs due to its digital nature, we suspect we will be doing higher runs soon. We see the market in need of much more education, but our early adopting customers of reaping the benefits of the uniqueness metallics delivers.</p>
<p>From simple projects, such as business cards that allow customers to be much more impressive, to packaging which demands high effect for cosmetic and candy affections, our customers are quickly appreciating Scodix Metallic. We’re also doing a lot of pre-production work for clients seeking to test drive the impact metallic could have. This includes short run promotional products for specialty goods, and focus group pre-marketing studies. Internally, we’re focus mostly on short run markets in Israel, which is a very large base for us.</p>
<p>We’re currently working a project for a larger client in the chocolate industry. We are running various promotional prints such as folders and brochures highlighted with metallic effects. We are also working with several grocers for unique promotions that have resulted in very promising results.</p>
<p>Today, every Eichut sales person has a sales kit that includes Scodix Metallic samples. Though it’s not for every prospect, Scodix Metallic is opening new doors and demand will continue to increase. Currently it’s still a small percentage of our work [no more than 5%] but we can see it steadily growing much higher.”</p>

<p>Après une participation à la huitième édition du salon China Print 2013, du 14 au 18 mai à Pékin, la société Scodix s’apprête à exposer pour la première fois en France au salon Graphitec du 11 au 14 juin. Ce sera pour elle l’occasion de présenter de nouveaux développements dans le domaine de l’ennoblissement tactile et sensoriel.<br />
Un an après sa participation au salon drupa qui a vu son audience et ses résultats exploser avec 30 machines vendues et 250.000 échantillons distribués, selon Yael Vidal, responsable marchés pour la France et l’Afrique du Nord, Scodix confirme ses ambitions sur le marché de l’ennoblissement et de la différenciation des produits imprimés avec toute une gamme de solutions incluant désormais impressions en relief, impressions incluant des paillettes, impressions en braille sans oublier différents types de dorures (or, argent, métallisé…).</p>
<p><em>« Nos marchés stratégiques sont ceux du luxe et des marques</em>, indique Yael Vidal. <em>Mais plus généralement tous ceux qui ont besoin de faire appel à la différenciation, à l’émotionnel, au tactile. »</em><br />
Sont ainsi concernés aussi bien les marchés de l’impression commerciale, de la finition que ceux des albums photos et de la carterie, sans oublier tout ce qui a trait aux séries limitées, aux éditions spéciales, à l’événementiel.</p>
<p><strong>Une cinquième machine en France</strong><br />
Graphitec va être l’occasion de présenter de nombreux échantillons de réalisations sur différents supports et pour de nombreuses applications. <em>« Il faut susciter les besoins, être pionnier et innovant »</em>, confie Yael Vidal.<br />
Celle-ci indique qu’une cinquième presse jet d’encre numérique Scodix Série S est sur le point d’être installée en France et plus précisément sur Paris. Dans le monde, ce sont plus de 70 machines qui ont déjà été livrées pour des opérations d’ennoblissement sur supports imprimés aussi bien en offset qu’en numérique.</p>
